Santoshi English Medium School is a co- Educational school, situated in sarbodaya,Nagar, Puri, Odisha, 752002. It was established in 1990 with a commitment to its own resolution for providing education to all. Even to the economically backward section of the society free of cost without any discrimination( Status, gender,caste, religion)

 

The school is having classes from Nursery . A faculty of trained teachers are engaged in providing strong academic focus along with extra- curricular activities that gives children the right foundation to succeed in life. Besides the classrooms, the other facilities like the computer room & science laboratory for conducting practical classes; Library with reference books and playground for learning various games and sports etc. is helping our students for all round development and encouraging them to make remarkable achievements.

 

Apart from Academic, students excelled and brought glory to the school in various sporting and cultural activities in state and national level competitions.Our Passionable scout & Guides too has not only brought glory to school by winning various prizes but also provide free services to the community people on occassions.

 

Going on the path of progress, Santoshi English Medium School had always tried to define innovation needs because success is swetest when the path is having rocks and obstacles. The progress as well as the popularity of the school is due to the innumerable blessings of the Almighty, the dedication & cooperation of our president, vicepresident, committee members, staffs, parents and the well wishers.

Annual Report (2018 – 19)

               It’s a matter of great pleasure for me to present before you the Annual Report of Santoshi English Medium School for the session 2018 – 19. Before describing the steady march of my school towards the peak of success, I would like to convey my cordial thanks to the esteemed guests on dais, Sj. Maheswar Mohanty, Honourable minister of Revenue & Disaster management, Odisha, and also MLA of Puri; Sj. Surendranath Dash, former chairman, Puri Municipality and president of our school managing body; Sj. Rabindranath Senapati, Retd. DSO, Puri and Vice president of our school managing body; for their kind presence here to grace today’s auspicious occasion. On behalf of our school managing body, staff and students, I welcome our honourable Chief Guest, respected special guests, distinguished dignitaries, dear parents and guardians to witness the Annual Function of Santoshi English Medium School for the session 2018 – 19.

 

This co-educational institution was established in the year 1990. It is a Government recognised school functioning under the NGO called Santoshi Development Complex, having classes from Nursery .  Santoshi English Medium School is Recognised by Govt. of Odisha in Puri district. It is having an updated course of studies and NCERT books. The school library is having reference books for students and teachers; the science laboratory, computer laboratory and other departments are there to focus on the all round development of children.

To speak more about our journey in the field of academics, in the Olympiad Exams 2017-18 for science, Math, English, Cyber and G.K, many of our students got gold, silver and bronze medals in first level. 26 students qualified for 2nd level online Olympiad exam and got gifts for their best performance. Miss Subham Smaranika of class VIII and Miss Ommshree Devi of class VI got special prizes for their performance in Olympiad exam from Eduheal Foundation. The popular learning app-Byju’s conducted exam called “school Super League” to test the proficiency in math’s and science. The students who got school bags as gifts from Byju’s for their exceptional performance are Miss T. Jaswitha Rani of class 4, Miss Priyanka Nayak of class 5, Master Biswajit Barik of class 6, Miss Chandrabhaga Mansingh of class 7, Master Situn Paikray of class 8. The second round test is yet to be conducted and I hope for a delightful result. In the bharatiya sanskruti gyana parikhya, organised by Gyatri Sakti pitha, puri; 52 students got qualifying certificates

In order to develop the sense of discipline, morality and team spirit among the students, the scout and guide, Red Cross and physical training classes have been included along with academic curriculum. Every year our students attended in different rallies, training camps, Parade during the celebration of Independence Day and Republic Day. This year our students got the running Shield for discipline on Chakhi Khuntiya Smruti divas and during the republic day Parade of this year, our Guide Troop fetched the Running Shield for best Guide Troop.

 

Apart from academics, our students have been participating in various district level, state level, and national level sporting events, rallies, training camps, parade and also in the competitions organised by the DPRO, LIC puri, Tourism office, RTO, and various NGOs and have fetched many accolades, sports scholarships and brought laurel to my school. In the Odisha Ideal Awards-2018, Miss Alisha Subhralekha of class VI got 1st position in Bhajan dance and 1st position in modern dance also, Master Amit Pattanaik of class 6 got 3rd prize in Fancy dress, Master Gyanranjan Pattajoshi of class 7 got 3rd prize in Gita Patha.  In Srikhatra Yuba Mahotsaba Miss Alisha Subhralekha got 1st prize in One Act Play; Miss Ommshree Devi got 2nd position in bhajan dance, in Children’s Talent Fest Miss Alisa Subhralekha got 1st prize in Ramp Show & 2nd prize in Fancy dress ,Master Amit Pattnaik of class 6 got 3rd  prize in Fancy dress, during Kumar Utsab of this year, Master Amit Pattnaik got 1st prize in Fancy dress, Alisha Subhralekha got 3rd in Bhajan dance, Miss Kiran Pattanayak of class 7 got 3rd prize in modern dance, Gyanranjan Pattajoshi got 3rd prize in Hanuman Chalisha Patha. During the Biswa Nrutya Divas 2018, Miss Ommshree Devi got 1st position in Shastriya Nrutya, In the district dance talent fest-2018, Miss Alisha Subhralekha got 2nd in Bhajan dance. Master Gyanranjan Pattajoshi of class 7 got 1st prize in a district level Githa Patha competition during Adi Sankaracharya Jayanti. Miss Priyadarshini Das of class 8 got special appreciation certificate for her English speech during celebration of Ayurveda dewas. In the Essay writing competition organised by LIC puri, Miss Priyadarshini Das of class 8 got 1st prize and Miss Subham Smaranika of class 8 got 2nd prize. During the National Sports day celebration, Master Ajit Das of class X got 2nd prize in the GK Quiz competition.

 

To mention about the Sports achievements of this year we have a long list of appreciations and medal winning events. It is not only the pride of my school but also a matter of pleasure for the state of Odisha that Miss Shakti Surupa Sahoo and Master Satyajit  Nayak of class VIII got gold medals in the National Asthedo Championship very recently and are selected for international level to play in the Asian Asthedo Championship and represent India. Then to narrate about other major success of this year, Miss Sunita Majhi of class VIII got many awards, medals and many prizes this year in various athletic events and in Gymnastics. Miss Preeti Reddy of class VIII, Master Debasis Reddy of class VI also got significant success in Gymnastics. Master Situn Paikray  of class VIII, got 1st prize in State Yoga Championship. Besides these I congratulate all other students also, who performed well in the district, state and national level sports events of this year. All those who fetched accolades to this institution are like the fragrant flowers in the garden of Santoshi English Medium School and wish them best of luck for their bright and prosperous future.

 

Another Pride of this institution is that our P.E.T Mr Sabyasachi Rath, is the first and the only PET from Puri district to participate in an international sports event. He is selected as head of the delegation for the Indian School team to participate in Asian Asthedo Championship, to be held at Kathmandu, Nepal and got gold medal for India

 

The competitions like English, Hindi action song, storytelling, handwriting, speech, drawing, fancy dress, solo song, solo dance, quiz, were conducted during the occasions like Teacher’s day, children’s day, Gandhi Jayanti etc. The students who got position in these competitions will receive their prizes from our honourable guests of today’s function. The inter house cricket, indoor game events like chess, carom and arm wrestling for different groups were also conducted. Music chair and putting the shot was conducted for the parents of our school and who got the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions will receive the prizes today in this function. This year the Annual sports Meet of the school will be  held during the month of January; our students to perform well in the various events like running race, math race, frog race, ladoo race, bucket ball, shot put, long jump, discus throw, javelin throw, relay race for different groups.

 

There are few needful activities to be fulfilled in order to upgrade Santoshi English Medium School to +2 levels. The progress as well as the recognition of this institution is due to the innumerable blessings of the Almighty, the dedication of our staff and the support of the well wishers. Though the path of progress is tough, my school has stride an extra mile with strong determination and commitment to its own resolution for providing indiscriminate education to all the sections of our society and nurture the hidden talents of the students. Hence, I sincerely request our esteemed guests, for giving their valuable suggestions at their kind level for the development of the school. With these hopeful words I end my report.
